September 2011 ›› Spring is sprung!

It has been 77 days since our last news update. During those 1848 hours elapsed the following things occured: Creative Director Ben Hay took his globetrotting heels to England, Belgium and Sweden - soaking up all the best creativity, design and fashion that Europe had to offer - returning quite SUPER-inspired.

On the work front - we completed a brand identity project with Neil Ross, and also designed his new website. We commenced work on the sleeve art for Joanna Weinberg's album 'The Piano Diaries'. We almost finished our first official wine label design for a well-known South Australian Winemaker (can't spread a peep until its bottled and on the shelves). We refreshed the Le Monde Cafe menu design for the new spring food launch. We commenced work on the website for Carre Noir, a french restaurant in Chatswood, and we dropped in to Portabello Market to find some more H-O-N-E-Y R-O-G-U-E letterpress blocks! PHEW!

July 2011 ›› Space Age Travel

Welcome to the new look Honey Rogue Website! Its often a little tricky to strike a balance between client work and allowing time to keep a studio's own website current. Just as we learn daily of new web tricks, techniques, conventions and styles - so to should we implement those in our own digital profiles, not just those of our customers. So we've spent a little while under the hood of the '58 Nash Rebel and converted it into a '59 Coupe De Ville. We hope it proves just as much a cult classic as it hugs the information superhighway.

June 2011 ›› Atomic Homes and Suburban Grapevines

Occasionally we like to spread the electronic word and expand upon our thoughts regarding new things - some that we have created, some that others have, or some which we just found and felt like sharing. Data drip feeds from the zeitgeist, delivered to your browser door like a 1950's milkman would. Hit the blogosphere!

May 2011 ›› A Revolution in Digital Media Display

Honey Rogue has been working on a range of corporate communications during 2011 with UK company Litelogic, who are preparing to go to market with a revolutionary product set to shake up the out of home digital display arena. They are also relocating their global headquarters to Sydney in late 2011. Honey Rogue was commissioned to design and build their website, which we are proud to say is live to the world and can be perused here

April 2011 ›› Argonauts for the Soldiers of Fortune

Honey Rogue has had a wonderfully long and fulfilling working relationship with Sydney psychedelic blues rock band The Soldiers Of Fortune. Band leader Tomson Sowonja often knows exactly what corner of the universe he wants to mine for visuals for his grooves, and we are always more than happy to orbit along with him in said galactic corners, busily, yet lovingly curating psychedelic atmospheres that both client and designer hope would make Storm Thorgerson proud! Check out the Argonauts voyage here.

March 2011 ›› Curating Rumbles In The Entertainment Jungles

P*A*S*H approached Honey Rogue to design a poster for their 'Rumble In The Jungle' event on Easter Sunday at The Gaelic. Early on in the brief both client and designer agreed we'd mine the visual styles of 60s/70s vintage boxing posters to create a RINGSIDE effect. Channeling the 'Fracas In Caracas' and the 'Brouhaha on Mustafa' we set about designing a pre-aged poster complete with urban jungle skyline, boxing symbolism and a special ringside of pugilist beat-boxers! March 2011 ›› He's The Man From Bad Feeling Woman

Having designed his personal visual identity and worked closely with him on a number of 'The Bucket Room' projects, we were delighted when Oscar Letelier decided it was time he created his own website to promote his small entertainment consultancy business and that Honey Rogue should help make that vision happen. Visit his site and say hello!

February 2011 ›› Vintage Lions in Polka Dots

Congratulations to Madeleine Reeves, manager and master of magic at Polka Dot Shoppe in Cowra, NSW. Her shop had its store opening this Saturday gone and proved a roaring success out of the gates. Honey Rogue designed the identity for this store, handled the signage design and built their store website. Visit her here.

We have been experiencing a fantastically rewarding and inspiring relationship with new client Lou Miranda Estate Wines. Commissioned to produce a range of illustrations for a Vintage Lion Poster Series, Honey Rogue has been busy sketching and vectoring Door Knockers, Floral Manes and Mosaic Classics. Steal some glimpses here.
